Description

Dinebra chinensis is an annual grass, usually 20–80 cm tall, with erect or ascending culms arising from a fibrous root system. Stems are slender, cylindrical, smooth, and often branched from the base. Leaves are linear, flat, and narrow, usually 5–25 cm long and 2–8 mm wide. Leaf blades are green, sometimes slightly rough on the upper surface. Leaf sheaths are smooth, and ligules are membranous. The inflorescence is a terminal panicle composed of numerous slender racemes, arranged along a central axis. Racemes are delicate and spreading. Spikelets are small, laterally compressed, and contain one or more florets. The fruit is a small caryopsis.
